I have built three face grain cutting boards like this. Building and selling for $275
I have two sold. I’m taking a break from cutting boards and building Adirondack chairs and outdoor furniture. Cutting boards are too finicky.
Thanks Mosca. It’s black walnut, hard maple and Purple Heart. Purple Heart is twice as hard as pecan wood. Purple Heart is expensive. It’s BEAUTIFUL building small furniture with it.

I did an inlay floor for the dining area of our home. The parquet is quartered red oak.
The band is walnut, Purple Heart, and a three inch center of 1/4rd white oak. The sun has not been kind to the Purple Heart.

Reason: spelling
Sunlight will cause Purple Heart to turn brown. Not sure what the color results will be on a cutting board. The board is soaked in food grade mineral oil and beeswax. Hopefully that keeps the colors stable.
