This is the one Sid P posted about once upon a time, like a year ago. Same pictures and everything.

At that price, it should not take a year plus to sell. I am wondering if something is broken and putting buyers off.

Yeah, Andrrr but if it holds more wood, then that is a plus?

In the link I posted which goes back to the original post, someone tagged in Bill at KBQ to get his opinion of the mod:

“It'll work fine as long as you use KBQ-sized logs (Red Bull to common brick in size), loaded with the grain oriented horizontally, and fill it only halfway up.”

I can’t say one way or the other but only filling it half way seems to defeat the purpose of making it twice as tall? I guess either way it will work.

I would think the taller firebox would be a waste of wood. Stacking that much wood in the firebox would casue it to burn top really fast. I also do not know how he tied the poppets in as well. It would be interesting to talk to this guy about the mod.

Modified firebox is interesting. I wonder if Bill made that for him or he did it himself. It seems to be well made mod, but I would think you would waste a ton of wood while cooking on it. I would like to see how he tied the poppets in as well. At first, I thought it was a trick with the photo, but that is a modified firebox.

        It's a gravity feed KBQ!

Looking at the pics, it looks like the mod is bolted on and might easily be removed, restoring it to a stock KBQ. Would definitely be worth asking about if someone were near the seller and interested.

That’s what I thought, but if that’s the case he could have sold it 20 times by now.
