Bottling Day Made Easier

I bottled thirty six bottles of Bordeaux today. My bottle sanitizer really speeds up the process: I built it 12 years ago and it holds 25 bottles. It is powered by a dishwasher motor/pump and I use a solution of potassium metabisulphite and citrate as my sanitizing solution, this does not have to be rinsed out before bottling. The bottle sanitizer can also be used to rinse and wash bottles.

No, I don't make enough wine to justify the cost.

In my beer brewing days, before I gave up bottling for kegs, I used to run the dishwasher full of bottles, upside down on the spines of the racks... saved a TON of work. I do not miss bottling five gallons of beer...!

Within 2 years of my starting to home brew I switched to kegs - 1997ish.
