I tried all of these, except the Blood Oath at the "Bourbon Bowl" last night.
We didn't do in-depth reviews, just jotted down the names and gave 'em a #, between 1-10 then our host averaged the scores.
The hands-down favorites were the Magnus & with the Booker's & the Bomberger's was right up there. We all agreed that The "Jerry's Batch" Booker's was one of the best releases in recent memory. I can't recall having one that good in years, and I've been drinking it for a very long time. If you can get your hands on a bottle, do it!
The Frank August & 13 Colony were not very good at all and the Michter's rye was incredible.
I was pleasantly surprised by the Penelope..it was quite good.
I gifted the Old Elk, (a wonderful pick that a friend of mine did), and an 11yr MGP pick ("Dream Spirits"), that another buddy of mine did. Everyone liked, or loved, the Dream Spirits too. We didn't bother cracking the Old Elk.
After everyone left, my host broke out some a Blanton's Gold pick, Antique Weller & PVW1
My liver needs a break!
