Does anyone here order liquor through the mail? I’m looking to get a specific bottle of vodka that’s not sold in Ohio and I’m not sure the validity of some of the websites I’ve found.
Just wondering if you have used a website to order liquor from and then have it shipped to your home?
I used one for a Secret Santa gift a couple of years ago. Of course, I don’t remember the name or url. Perhaps Richard Chrz recalls if he is around. If no one else knows of one, I could check old credit card info to find it.

I knew Maryland doesn’t allow it so I went to our state alcohol authority and found this:
‘Is Maryland the only state to ban direct shipment of alcoholic beverages?
No. All states, except Alaska, North Dakota, and Washington, D.C., ban the direct shipment of
“distilled spirits.”
Direct shipment of “beer” is only permitted in Alaska, Virginia, New Hampshire,North Dakota, and Washington, D.C.,
and direct “wine” shipment is prohibited in the following 12 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Montana, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Utah.after

but. Seelbach’s and Flaviar are two I’m familiar with. Flaviar is where we picked up the Bourbon Calendar last year. But your state may not allow from websites?
I’m looking to get my friends son a bottle of Imperia Vodka. He is turning 21 at the end of the month and was adopted from Russia when he was 3 months old.

I have no idea where you live in Ohio but Uber eats shows that “Wine & LiquorDepot is located at 96 E Coshocton St in Johnstown, Ohio 43031 “ has it in stock. So maybe a liquor store nearer you will too.
Of course Uber might be wrong.
Thanks Donw. Uber must be mistaken. Ohio is a state where all of the liquor stores are state run. All stores and their inventory are listed on OHLQ.com. OHLQ does not even list this vodka as something available anywhere in Ohio.
You can try contacting the company. I did that with Double Cross Vodka, and the president of the company wrote me back. He got me in touch with a manager who sent me a list where it was sold in my area.
Maybe they can give you a reliable online shipper.
I did a search here in California. This looks legit. It is a liquor company in San Diego.
You can give them a call if you want.

If the liquor stores are state owned chances are the online sellers can not ship to Ohio. I have run into this before.
I didn't realize there were laws prohibiting online sales. Ohio wants their money. Looks like only wineries and maybe breweries can ship their products?
Several years ago I ordered a few bottles of Monkey Shoulder scotch from a liquor store in Chicago because it was not available in Florida at that time. Can't remember the name of the store. Good luck.

Sorting alcohol laws is a pain in the butt. In the late 70's I mailed a favorite prof, and wine snob, in NC a bottle of wine from WA. In retrospect that was probably illegal.
In college, early 70's, Lincoln, NE, could buy beer at 18, but dry joints for liquor. Take your bottle, buy a $10 coke. Same when I went to school in NC. No tax on cigarettes, but had to join a "club" to have a drink at dinner.
Several years ago, Washington state went away from state-owned liquor stores. and relaxed rules on small distillery operations. But tax on booze is about 25%.
My mother's first cousin, in the FBI late 40's and early 50's, talked about chasing bootleggers in the Carolinas. At night, best to shoot out a tail light to better track your prey. He recommended keeping revolver on the seat, under your thigh, for ready access. I suspect he could hit the tail light. In later years, as a County Attorney and then judge, he killed numerous rattlers by throwing fence pliers at them from horseback. I have seen at least 4 small jars filled with rattlers.
