Picked up a bottle of this last night for... like $35 I think.
Jameson Triple Triple - triple distilled, triple cash finished. Finished in bourbon, sherry and chestnut casks. Apparently there is another version which is finished in Malaga wine casks instead of the chestnut.
I have to say, I was very, very pleased with this. Not only pleased, actually quite impressed. I love the very slight sweetness of it, it is incredibly smooth and easy to drink... probably too easy! I think I drank almost half a bottle last night. Luckily I feel fine this morning, but I slept well! lol
Here is the one:
The Malaga-finished one doesn't have the green band at the bottom, it has an orange band:
The Malaga one also says "Travel Exclusive" so I assume it's probably only in duty-free stores like in airports and such. That's often how these companies do it - they make one version ONLY for duty-free, so it can be seen as more rare, charge more and generate a sense of urgency when you're just traveling through and make you 'have to grab it or I'll never see it again!'. lol
Anyways, I strongly recommend the Triple Triple Chestnut Edition, and since I'm sending my wife home to visit her family in July (I made her buy her ticket last night, so it would be a done deal), I may see if she can look for the Malaga edition in the airport at some point.
But I foresee myself having a few more bottles of this between now and then - as this bottle probably isn't going to last the weekend! lol
Thought I'd share this with ya'll. It's not as full-bodied as something like Elijah Craig I picked up at the same time or a Larceny (one of my absolute favs), but it's quite good and very smooth, lightly sweet and very drinkable!
