It's been years since you could buy Weller's of the shelf in Florida. It is apportioned to one chain, ABC liquors. They keep it in the back and only select customers have access to it. Before the trend lemmings jumped aboard the Bourbon craze, it was out in the open. Then, a few influencers like Alton Brown proclaimed it "as good as Pappy" and that was the end of it being accessible to the masses.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

Weller Special Reserve is readily available in Ohio now and with all stores controlled by the state all we pay is $26.99 a bottle. Reminds me of Buffalo Trace….I wonder why? 😊
Of the bottles I’ve purchased, all have been at MSRP - which is a little higher here in NM due to taxes…but I’ve yet to pay more than that. Although…that dang CYPB bottle I want is making me consider paying more.
