    There’s fine wines… and high dollar spirits…

    I’m not interested in them…
I want to hear your sore throat remedy…
    With and without horehound candy…

Tea with a cinemonstick and cognac or a shot (or two) with aquavit
In this video, I'm sharing a shot of Aquavit. Aquavit is a delicious and iconic Scandinavian spirit, and I think you'll love it!

seems to me your Aquavit cures anything from a sore throat to a bad engine tick....
not a bad thing when one thing cures so much

My grandfather swore by sucking on a horehound drop and a shot of Jim Beam in a cup of hot black coffee. He always said the hot coffee helped, the bourbon didn’t actually help the sore throat but it sure helped him not care about it!

I was late to the horehound game…
      It’s been just the last 10 or 15 years…
But I have had spare bags since…

I like to add hot lemon tee these 3. Helps the throat, quiets a cough, & tastes great.

I love a good cognac, but tend to go tequila for concoctions such as cough medicine…
That way I can save the good stuff for when all my senses are back….
I also need to up my Earl Grey game too…. But that’s for another thread…

We keep a lower end Brandy around for such purposes, and a little bit of cooking now and then.

Growing up it was bourbon with some rock candy mixed up in a mason jar and spoon-fed to us children, My parents didn’t drink but we always had a bottle handy when it came to the health of the children, or so they said.🤔 After my first microbiology class in college and noting we cleaned everything down with phenol Chloraseptic became my go to remedy for sore throats.

Whiskey, whiskey and whiskey . A little ginger brandy also does the trick.

Any particular ratio for the first three?
      33:33:33?
      25:50:25?

      But ginger brandy?
      Didn’t know there was such…
      It’s on the list too…

Ginger Brandy Extra Sharp. I believe it was a Phillips produce (at least in the upper Midwest). Haven't thought about that since I was a young adult. Same for Snowshoe Grog (a Brandy and Schnapps mix, I think).

Hot tea, lemon and a splash of B&B.

and if I’m sick (bad cold). Too much hot and sour soup followed by the above.

Why go at it alone when a tag-team kicks butt faster!

Old fashioned hot toddy. Tea, lemon, brandy or bourbon. Or just skip the tea and lemon

There’s a couple mentions here about honey… which is a key ingredient in my recipe…
but there’s no mention of a famous recipe out there that includes two peppers…

          I’m liking this…
I’ve been equal parts lemon juice, honey and white liquor that drifted to tequila to save the more expensive white liquor…
But the pineapple juice, clove and cinnamon sparks interest…

Cayenne and black pepper, something I’d never imagined, was included in Popcorn Sutton’s remedy…
