    Frozen slush recipes

    Summer's nearly over, but these are great hot weather drinks. Serve frozen in insulated or plastic cups.

    Irish coffee slush
    6 cups heavy cream
    16 cups strong brewed coffee, cooled
    4 cups sugar
    4 cups Irish whiskey

    Bourbon slush
    18 cups water
    12 oz frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
    12 oz frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
    3 cups sugar
    3 cups Bourbon whiskey
    8 teaspoons unflavored, unsweetened instant tea powder

    Peach Sangria slush

    4 lbs ripe peaches, peeled and cuisinarted
    750 mL white wine
    750 mL rosé Moscato
    2 cups peach schnapps
    1 cup sugar

    For each recipe:
    Mix ingredients in open top cooler, place in freezer. After a day mix thoroughly with an immersion blender; repeat mixing after one and then two more days.

              I've made a bourbon slush similar to that one. Pretty tasty, even for those who may not ordinarily like bourbon. I think those people are weird, but I digress.

                These sound like great, any time of year recipes. Well, I live in the South. I use the Cuisinart ice cream maker, the one with the bowl you keep in the freezer. It works great for slushy drinks as long as you are making a small, one quart or less batch.

                Where's my calculator so I can scale down your Bourbon Slush recipe . . . ?
