Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
Beer Advocate, but I take it with a healthy dose of not too seriously. Most beers are pretty good, and I don’t think there is much difference between beers within a certain style, until you get to the extremes… and then, sometimes, the extremes aren’t always that good. I usually just check while I’m in the store trying to decide about one I’ve never seen before.
For the hard stuff, I generally don’t touch it, and when I do I take the word of whoever is pouring and mixing.
I haven’t found any sites where the reviewers match my taste buds so to speak so I have a low level of trust. I generally Google the name of what I am looking at and look at tasting notes for words I like (smoky) and to avoid (fruity). The store staff can be helpful especially if you give them a few favorites and tell them you want a new one for $x.
Frankly, asking here for recommendations and reviews has worked out well! Thank you Huskee for mentioning the Woodford Double Oaked one a while back.
If you like the Woodford Double Oaked try Elijah Craig Toasted Oak. Not quite as thick and rich as the Woodford DO but along the same vibe. To me it is excellent.
