    For a coke?

My wife and I were on our way home from a day in Abilene, Tx today. We normally drink iced tea but as we neared Cisco TX ( home of Conrad Hiltons first hotel) my wife asked how long it had been since I’d had a coke. I couldn’t remember the last coke I’d had. So we pulled up to the drive through window at the Wendy’s on the south side of Cisco and I ordered 2 large cokes. I was shocked when the young lady handed me 2 very normal looking cokes and said, “that will be $7.12” . Good grief! Over 7 dollars for 2 cokes to go at a drive up window! I know the economy is in a bit of a mess but not that bad. If I remember right the last mixed drink I had cost less. I’m glad we bought more tea bags at Sam’s. It’ll be a while before I order another Coke.

    They’re $2.99 at our Wendy’s, and a large Coke at McDonald’s is $1.69 🤷‍♂️.

$7.00 for two smallish cups of flavored and colored water that cost about five cents to make. Sheesh. 🙄

Capitalism at its finest! Supply and demand, my demand just dropped to zero. They have the last dollar I’ll spend there for a very long while.

A Chili's To-Go Margarita (frozen or on the rocks, your choice) is $6.49.

My wife loves Margaritas, she had 1 at Chilis today. The last 2 times she’s ask they wouldn’t sell her a to go Margarita they said they don’t do that anymore.

Oak Smoke How odd! I just saw a bartender make one like five days ago. I'll ask next time I'm in there. (I meet up with some friends about once a week or so.)

Michael_in_TX I just told my wife about this conversation. She was all in. I’m pretty sure you’ll make her Christmas card list if you tell her how to get a to go Margarita.

I haven't had soda in over 30 years and I plan on keeping that going.

About 8 years since my last one, and I have no desire to ever have another.

Is Cisco maybe one of those cities where Wendy's kept the dynamic pricing even after the backlash?

I’ll bet that we could make that happen. They still bottle several kinds of Dublin soft drinks there.

Stop at a gas station c store. Normally coffee and such is reasonable especially compared to Starbucks.

Yeah, soda is the number 1 profit maker for most restaurants. And Wendy’s is about double McDonald’s for a coke. I’ll usually try and get stuff like that at a gas station when traveling.

Makes me feel better about all the money I spend on flights now that I know I'm saving with the free soda waters

For that price it better be the original recipe, if you know what I'm sayin.... And, yes, I'd like a straw.

texastweeter hopefully you weren't drinking a coke at the time and had it come out of your nose. That's not how it works...

When I was hittin all those burger places recently, all the fast casual places were $3.25-$3.50 for a fountain drink. If you’re dining inside a fast food joint, NEVER order a medium or large, get the small. Almost everyone will give you free refills.
