    Caribou Coffee

What are everyone’s thoughts on Caribou?

I have tried a bunch of coffees around work (Stan’s Donuts, Dunkin’, McDonalds, Starbucks (ugh), Corner Bakery, misc mom & pops) and work actually serves Intelligentsia coffee. Einstein Bagels serves Caribou but the hard to find stuff that is not carried in stores like Fireside. It is really good so I finally ordered some online alongside the Obsidian, Amy’s Dark Roast, and the Mahogany. I am fairly sure I have had all of them at some point and are they are excellent. So, this will be some nice morning brews with some of my favorite beans. $45 order for free shipping.

I used to go to their establishment at the Denver Airport and enjoyed their coffee. I've never seen it retail.

I couldn’t find any of these locally or on Amazon so sounds like direct is the best option. Some stores carry the light roasts.

I have seen Caribou in stores here, but did not pay much attention to it.

Fair. There are a billion beans out there. This one is pretty good so maybe worth trying it!

They are not sold here in whole bean, but can get limited roasts in k-cup versions. With my new aero-press, I’d like to dabble in their dark roasts. Mahagany was always a favorite. Thanks, you’ve given me an idea

Yes, finding whole bean is impossible unless direct.

just ordered Amy's blend dark and Mahogany we'll see.
I have been using Copper Moon Dark Roast Sumatra Blend from Amazon which I like.

They used to have several stores in the greater Atlanta area and when I could, I bought their Mahogany and liked it. I may have to order it from Amazon.

I didn’t check Amazon for mahogany specifically but they might not have it. Usually the light stuff only.

I have liked them when they were in Chicago, but I work for a competitor, so I best not help on the interwebs…

I have tried Caribou but I don't remember being impressed. I think I got it in a Whole Foods or a Fresh Market. Don't remember which roast. I like Peete's Major Dickson's a lot right now. I'll give Caribou another try.

Peet’s and Caribou are owned by the same company!

Grew up with it since it was founded in MN in the early 90’s. I had that long before any Starbucks. Is it special other than being a hometown brew? IDK. But they’ve never done any wrong by me. And it’s nice to not support Starbucks. (Not that I go to Caribou, really…..I’m too cheap more of a gas station brew guy myself)

Kathy is from Minneapolis and goes there regularly to see friends and family. I do know that Caribou is her goto spot for her morning coffee, but unfortunately she doesn’t know much about their retail blends. She believes you will enjoy them all. After all, it is not Starbucks thank goodness.
