    Turkish Tobacco Bitters..wow!

At the suggestions of some of my bourbon brethren, I picked up a bottle of Fee Brother's Turkish Tobacco bitters and made an Old Fashioned.
These may be the best bitters that I've ever had, and I've tried a lot of them.

Are they "smokey" -- or is there a markedly different flavor?

@Murdy..a little smokey and it really works with the rye. I probably have 8 bottles of bitters and this is the best that I've ever had..

I'm not much of a cocktail drinker and I don't have much experience with bitters. My friend made the BBQ Bitters recipe from the cocktail bar Proof & Provision in Atlanta's Georgian Terrace Hotel - published in Gun and Garden Magazine Feb. 2013. It makes a bunch, my friend still has some and keeps me supplied.

I use it in my pork butt injection recipe the night before I smoke the pork butt: 1/4c salt 1/4c sugar and bring to the 2c level with 50% water and 50% apple cider vinegar. Add 5-6 drops of the BBQ Bitters. You get a slight hint of a taste of them in the finished pulled pork - in a good way. Enough for two 8-10 lb butts.

Yeah...my wife gifted me the glass. It comes with a silicon wedge that you pour water into. When you're ready to use the glass, just pull out the mold and it leaves a nice wedge of ice.
She found it at a Hallmark store of all places. I know it was at least 10 years ago, if not longer. I rarely use it unless I'm drinking high test whiskey, or the rare cocktail.

SheilaAnn I'm sure that would work. If you try it, please post your results.

Hmmm, I think there’s one of those in the freezer in the garage right now…

Great, another thing to add to my TotalWine list…
I’m always amazed when I can walk out of there for less than $100.
And when the clerk says, “Did you find everything ok?”
I say, “IDK, did you hide things?” LOL

so many questions - does it taste "tobacco'y"? are you a smoker/chewer? does it make the liquor taste like tobacco or just a flavor kind of close to that? does it make it taste more like a peaty scotch? does your pee smell funny afterward?

DeusDingo It does have that sweet, smoky essence similar to a cured tobacco leaf with hints of coffee. No it does not make the liquor taste like tobacco nor does it taste anything like peaty scotch. As for you last question, (which is proof that all thoughts should not be posts), it's bitters, not asparagus!
