Anyone Ever Used a Cocktail Subscription Service?

I'm thinking of sending gift certificates to each of our sons-in-law for a cocktail subscription service for Xmas gifts. Basically you get a box of mixers and ingredients each month (with the liquor if your state allows it) and the instructions for making bartender-curated cocktails. I read about it in this Southern Living article:

I thought this might be a good gift because neither SIL ever steps foot in a grocery and would never shop for the individual ingredients for any given cocktail. Having all the ingredients with the recipes delivered would be right up their alley.

I'm leaning toward the article's the first choice, Cocktail Courier, because it allows for customization each month. For example, for the whiskey options for December, this service offers 2 different cocktails, each of which contain cinnamon, which one SIL really dislikes, although he likes whiskey. So he'd be able to choose another option. The fact that they could use their gift certificate customize their subscription box each month, skipping months if they so choose, sounds like a good way to go.

I also like Shaker and Spoon, but it does not allow for customization.

Has anyone had any experience with either of these cocktail subscription services or with any other?

As Cousin Eddy says, it’s the gift that keeps on giving

a friend of mine has had a subscription like this before and enjoyed it. But she was one to also not mind experimenting with spirits she has not tried. Being next door to her and my buddy, I got to try a number of the cocktails she made. Some were good….some….meh. I don’t know if she was able to customize each month, so that’s a nice way to go about it depending on how adventurous your SIL are.

There’s another service that I’ve looked into but just never went through with subscribing, and the name escapes me but Huskee was a member at one point and enjoyed it. Not sure if he is still subscribing or not.

But, it’s still a pretty cool gift in my opinion!

Flaviar was what I used to subscribe to, I enjoyed it for a couple years. It was spirits only, whiskeys and gins and such.

I was gifted a subscription to the beer of the month club on two occasions in the past. Really enjoyed that.
