Ah, if only the weather were unseasonably warm here--highs around 50, lows around 30 all weekend. I guess firing up the wood burner would be more appropriate than a Margarita. Maybe a brandy would do.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

You know despite that fact that it only hit a high of 44 here today and it's quite dreary, when I read your post title of "Margarita" it instantly sounded good. I just happen to have a bit of reposado left. I don't have, and don't think I can get, orgeat, so I'll sub either simple syrup and orange oil, or triple sec and orange oil.
Google has informed me of these other alternatives. If you need a substitute for orgeat syrup then your best options are almond syrup, almond extract, amaretto, or Crème d'amade.
Thanks Attjack. I (admittedly) had to google it and it said it was a sweetened orange flower water, to simplify what it said. I took that as a lighter version of triple sec, didn't get as far as reading almond or amaretto, that's interesting.
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake on ice for six to eight seconds. Strain over fresh ice into a rocks glass and garnish with shaved fresh nutmeg over a lime wheel, a lime peel or nothing at all.
Cointreau Noir Margarita
Have you tried Cointreau Noir?
1 oz Cointreau Noir
2 oz Blanco Tequila
1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake on ice for six to eight seconds. Strain over fresh ice into a rocks glass.

Yeah, Tiki tequila drink? Something along those lines. It would not replace the traditional margarita for me but it's a good way to change it up occasionally. I give it a 3.5/5 stars.
Getting kinda cool for Margarita's in these parts but I'll put on a hoodie and take one for the team.
Great recipes you all have mixed up here, I ran outta Tequilia, something I should remedy this weekend....
Attjack you said it. For some reason it seems to literally enhance the flavor of eggplant more than any food. I mean, it makes food edible, but eggplant has a unique enhancement.
I always wonder where those beautiful pics of your dogs out in the woods are taken. For a second I thought you’d spilled the beans, but there are Portlands all over the US. Is it a secret or just something I haven’t come across? BTW, I love the bar pic.

Perhaps it’s because I live in SoCal…but margaritas are pretty much a staple year round.
With that, I’m thinking I could even enjoy them in a snow storm.

If we're in the woods there's a good chance I'm in California. Especially if you see redwoods.

Texas Roadhouse is building in Clovis,NM
looking like an opening February, March 2023
and being am setting on my can thinking about applying and working awhile. Bartender training would be fun and a plus. Not sure about it yet wages might suck.
I heard some of the restaurants in town are a little scared of TXRH and their starting to pick up their feet more. Some of the chain restaurants in town only has 1 person running the Hostess station, TXRH alway has at least 4 manning the hostess desk. Some told me TXRH will have the same employee shortage as everyone else in town. Roadhouse told me NOPE we’ll bring them in from Kentucky if we need to. A few are already crying we don’t want a Texas business in town. Their not based in Texas their based in Kentucky
