    Informal Friday Cocktail Poll

I'm considering making 1 or more of these cocktails this weekend. Which one do you think should come to fruition?

    Whiskey Crusta
    1/2 lemon, cut along equator
1 teaspoon superfine sugar, plus extra for frosting glass
    2 dashes bitters
    2 ounces bourbon
    1/2 teaspoon orange Curaçao
    1 teaspoon lemon juice

    Ramos Gin Fizz
    2 ounces gin
    3/4 ounce simple syrup
    1/2 ounce heavy cream
1/2 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed
1/2 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed
    3 dashes orange flower water
    1 fresh egg white
    Club soda

    Aviation
    2 ounces gin
    1/2 ounce maraschino liqueur
    1/4 ounce crème de Violette
3/4 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed
    Garnish: brandied cherry

    The Aviation caught my eye.
    Simple but effective.

It's my neighbor's favorite cocktail. She was visiting one day and mentioned that fact and was impressed when I had everything on hand to make it. Now so does she.

Also, a good choice this week because I made a batch of brandied cherries last week.

When the weather warms up here I'm going to start making more of your Tiki cocktails. While admiring the Mai Tai I was also impressed with that beautiful outdoor kitchen taking shape.

It would have had vote buttons next to each choice!

        Whiskey Crusta sounds great!

I have not had the contents in the Aviation, well, the crème de violette that is.

but, why not one of each! Live on the wild side!

Damn, now that you've voted Whiskey Crusta I'll have to make one of each since they each have a vote.

I find I can do maybe 3 pineapple drinks and my stomach rebels against the acids.
Even lemonade after awhile lights a fire again the acids as in some other fruity drinks.
And I'm guessing its the acids may be the sugar maybe something else.
          Not sure.

If I make this again I'll have to work on my technique.

            Whiskey Crusta
            • 1/2 lemon, cut along equator
            • 1 teaspoon superfine sugar, plus extra for frosting glass
            • 2 dashes bitters
            • 2 ounces bourbon
            • 1/2 teaspoon orange Curaçao
            • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

I Used my own curaçao and Wild Turkey 101.
this is a NYT recipe and I have some issues with how it was written.

Rub cut end of half lemon around rim of a small (3- to 4-ounce) wineglass, then dip glass in extra sugar. Using a vegetable peeler, carefully pare the lemon so peel comes off in one piece. Lower peel into glass to make a kind of cup.

Stir remaining ingredients in a shaker with a handful of ice for one minute and strain into glass.
