Some people only drink light beer and some people hate it. Personally, I like it and think it has its place. For me, that's usually on a hot day or with a particular sort of meal that benefits from guzzling light beer between bites. The reason I made this thread, however, is because I have a light beer recommendation. Oddly this recommendation may or not appeal to the 2 types of light beer drinkers I described above. This one is different.
Slightly Mighty could probably fool a lot of people because it tastes like a real IPA. But at 95 calories it's definitely a light beer. If you're intrigued you should pick some up. I just grabbed my second 6-pack.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

I'll have to watch for that. I like light IPAs. My current favorite is Bell's Light Hearted Ale, their "light" vrs of Two Hearted Ale. It's not really light, but it's lighter than the original.
I agree with what you said too, it has its place. Some folks won't touch light with a 10' pole and others only drink light, I consider myself in the neutral zone where I can appreciate both light and regular styles. I actually enjoy Michelob Ultra Gold on hot days, them babies go down good on lawn mowin' day. A slosh of bourbon or tequila in them really brings them to life too.
Yeah, we're definitely on the same page. Lawnmower beers, shower beers, nothing wrong with them!
I've never seen Bell's Light Hearted Ale before. I'll be keeping my eye out for it now. Is it low calorie too? I do lots of session IPAs. I guess that's probably what we're talking about here?
For regular light beers it was Miller Lite for me for a long time. Maybe because when I would visit my aunt as a teenager she would say, "help yourself to whatever's in the fridge -- there's beer in there". And it was Miller Lite. But for some reason, I more recently switched to Coors Light that I previously thought tasted a little too watery. I also dig Michelob Ultra. Both flavors.
I really like the new Amber Max by Michelob Ultra. It came out right before Covid and then disappeared for months. It reappeared about 3 weeks ago, here. Surprisingly flavorful for a beer with 95 calories.
First of all, I am a dedicated beer drinker. I really don’t like the big brand light beers at all. Miller, Bud, Coors. To me they just taste bad. But I enjoy a Samual Adams light now and then. I look forward to trying the Bells as well as this Slighty Mighty. I believe that’s made by Dogfish Head Brewing?
The guy that owned Dogfish Head (and his son) do a lot of fishing on Chincoteague Island (actually the beach is on Assateague) and patronize my friend's bait and tackle shop. I have fished on the beach with him once or twice. Nice guy. That said, I don't like his beer. 😯
Not much on either IPA or light beer. Don’t drink a lot of beer. If I’m really hot and thirsty I’ll pick a pale lager over a light if available, otherwise water. But my usual fare is either an amber ale or a Brit style bitter. Yeah I know, weird.
If I go light beer its Michelob Ultra or Miller Lite.
Won't but Coors Light, the Molson Coors brewery in Toronto abuts Mimico Creek which is no where near the Rockies.
Most craft breweries up here are brewing the heavy hoppy beers that seem to be the rage in the GTA.

Somewhere in my 40's my stomach and skin decided to revolt against non-light beers. I went through all of the stages of grief. Except for "Acceptance." I haven't arrived at that one, yet. Which is probably why I have diarrhea and a rash this morning.

I've been drinking Slightly Mighty for a while now. I also like Laguinita's Daytime IPA.
We had a big discussion about light/low carb beers over on this post, where I learned about Partake beers, from pkadare , which have virtually no calories, no carbs. Some folks are skeptical, but it has its place, like when I've already had one beer and the smoke has about 5 hours left. I switch to Partake and can still have enough mental acuity left to finish off the cook and get the sides on the table as well.
I order Partake Beer by the case from Canada. They have several varieties available, and you can purchase a Discovery Pack to see if you'll even like it. There are vendors in the US, but none close to me.
Wow, I had no idea this was brewed here and I spent many hours at beer stores when I drove for MolsonCoors.
Well.ca is about twenty minutes away from me in Guelph.
I've tried the major breweries light/low carb beers and find them blah.
