New bbq place in Austin. Bangers beer garden and bbq. Only place in Texas that has whole hog on the menu. Received a grand tour of the whole place. Everything is done by hand and nothing electric (only the lights). Excellent place highly recomend. Also stopped by Franklins, but just snapped a few pics from outside.
I've been wanting to go to Bangers for a few years now, just don't make it to Austin very often. At one time they had a fried chicken sausage that I hope to try: they made sausage from the chicken meat then wrapped it in the skin, battered, and fried. Not sure if they still have it on the menu - didn't see it online.
...and on and on... The changes in the BBQ landscape of Texas in the last 10-15 years is incredible. Plus, of course, the old guard - some of whom you mentioned above.
