Going to Weatherford, Granbury and Hillsboro……

Hey y’all! A friend is traveling to Texas soon. She asked where to eat. Thoughts?

Some of my first choices would be at Oak Smoke's, 58limited's, Uncle Bob's, Purc's, et al...

Would love to help, but that's a bit far North for our experience. Bill has a good suggestion below though.

From Weatherford, a 15 to 20 minute drive to Dayne's Craft BBQ in Aledo. They are #7 on the Texas Monthly list. We had a mini MeatUp there last year. Details on the MeatUp page on AR, Besides great BBQ, they are also know for their great hamburgers and bologna sandwiches. We met Dayne and saw all his pits and met his pitmasters.

Those are in my neighborhood for sure. The first thing that comes to mind is Hard 8 bbq in Stephenville. It’s good food. Their onion rings are wonderful. Let me think a bit and I’ll add more.

Granbury, and Weatherford are "burbs" of Ft. Worth, but there are a lot of the Texas Monthly award winning places in around there. Goldees, Pather City, Hard 8, Hurtado, Terry Black's, Cattleack.. No matter where you are in the DFW area, you are an hour drive to where you want to be.. Hillsboro is a bit further south, so it is 2hrs from where you want to be..

Winner, winner chicken dinner at Babe’s Chicken in Granbury. Fried or smoked chicken. Family style all you can eat sides of green beans, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy with biscuits.

Just around the corner from Babe’s in Granbury is a little bar-burger joint. It’s called Bob’s off the square. The food is great! It’s just a small bar and grill. It has a covered outdoor area behind the building that we enjoy. If I remember right they have live music some nights too. You won’t be disappointed.
