Drove my wife to her doctor appointment this afternoon after she bribed me by buying dinner. While she was in with the doctor I discovered we were 5 minutes away from Panther City BBQ, a Texas Monthly Top 50 ranked at #35. Not too busy on Thursday night, dining room almost full but was clearing out fast as we ordered.
We ordered the Cowtown platter for $55.00 which includes 1/2 lb brisket, 1/2 lb sausage, 1/2 lb pulled pork with two pints of sides. Chose the cream corn and dill potato salad as our sides. Brisket and pulled pork was excellent, perfectly cooked. We both commented how good the vinegar based sauce on the pulled pork was. The regular sausage was average. Cream corn excellent, the potato salad good but we felt like it needed something else added to it.
Overall, both of us enjoyed the meal and will be eating it again tomorrow night for dinner as well. The platter could easily feed 4 adults! In the picture there’s another big slice of brisket under the one you can see.
