Wrong kinda fire at Miller's Smoke House

Past Texas Meat Up attendees have eaten at Miller's in Belton Tx in the past. Overnight, last night, the kitchen caught fire mysteriously and did considerable damage. As a result, the restaurant will be closed until repairs can be completed. Fortunately no one was in the building so it's only property damage. We've got quite a few BBQ joints in our area, but to my tastes, Miller's is the only one worth the trip. They have been on the Texas Monthly 50 best list for a number of years.

That stinks, but based on the number of fires I’ve heard of, it’s not a matter of "if", but "when". I’m glad no one was hurt.

That's terrible, such a hassle ahead with insurance and getting everything back together again. Wish them the best.

Damn I hate to see that. 😢 The employees there were so friendly and the food was great. I remember our whole group was in unanimous agreement on that. Hope they can recover quickly.

After seeing this fire and the one at Helberg bbq a few years ago I can see why Terry Black has his pits in a separate area. I hate to see a business have to go through this. It’s tuff enough with just normal day to day business.

I know there is the mental thing with Pits and Fire, but restaurants (cookin) always run the risk of this happenin. Ya don't hear many dental offices goin up in smoke. Hope the recovery is speedy.

All it takes is some grease that didn't get cleaned up.

Crud. Hope the damage isn't to extensive and they can get back to cooking soon.
