To round out my mini-crawl from my Part One review of Feges, I follow it with the newest (only two weeks old at this writing) and arguably the largest barbecue venue I think I have ever been at simply known as The Pit Room.. As I mentioned in my previous posting, this was very close to my place of business so dining there was convenient, at least from a location standpoint. I always said if this place were ever to figure out how to expand they would have a real winner on their hands.
Back in 2018 I did a review and my biggest complaint was the available seating. I'd say maybe 15 folks could be seated indoors and the same on their small patio. Lines would regularly be 40-50 people in the beginning so eating there was generally out of the question. Barbecue was always top notch with brisket and their sausages being first rate.
Here's from my former review of their tiny venue on Richmond Avenue here n Houston and the food back then.

So when they announced that they were building a huge venue on I-10 over near Memorial City it got my attention. I still love their 'cue and was fired up at their new location knowing it would more than likely solve the dining space issue.
To my amazement the place is cavernous. Like I mentioned I think it's the largest barbecue place I have ever been to. Seating indoors has got to be close to 100 and the indoor/outdoor patio in the back has got that many seats as well. They hadn't quite got their full service bar up and running at this writing, but it was certainly going to be a happy hour draw in that part of town.
.

Since I knew I was going to more than one venue I didn't order the mega tray of food. I love their tacos so I went that route, one brisket and one pulled pork. Also wanted to try one of their venison sausages so ordered that as well. The thing I like most about this place is they have a huge condiment bar with pickled cucumbers, carrots, onions and jalapenos. You could almost make a meal grazing at the condiment bar !!

Tacos did not disappoint, both were delicious. The sausage was a bit of a disappointment, kind of dry. It could have used a little more fat in the blend, venison tends to be that way. All in all the experience did not disappoint either. Large, spacious dining and gathering areas make it ideal for a large group looking to have a few drinks, eat some solid bbq offerings and just enjoy the atmosphere. I really like this place overall for those reasons.
Having said all that, the food this time was not over the top. I'd have to give it a B+. The venue itself though was spectacular, probably an A+. That said;
Troutman Barbecue Score = A -
