Abilene TX--Solar Eclipse 2024

My better half and I are going to Abilene,Texas to the view the solar eclipse in April. Abilene cuz it has not insanely priced lodging and it's only a couple of hours from the path of totality; we're thinking driving to Gatesville the day of. Looking at Internet searches, it appears that Abilene isn't likely to be a dining hotspot; so...any suggestions for good eats in/near Abilene?

Galveston Seafood company, 818 east hwy 80, or the Cork and Pig Tavern, 2467 north Judge Ely Blvd. There’s also a good Chinese restaurant but I’m having trouble remembering its name. Abilene is a wonderful town. You’ll enjoy your stay. Gatesville is much smaller and derives much of its economy from the large prison there. I haven’t found a restaurant there that I could recommend. Both of these are practically in my back yard. Enjoy your stay.
