One thing about the list, which I like, it’s titled…..18 Of Houston’s Most Essential BBQ Joints. Not…. Houston’s 18 Best BBQ Joints, they also didn’t say…Houston’s 18 MOST Essential BBQ Joints. So they’re basically saying that these are 18 of Houston’s best places. There was a couple of joints that I was surprised weren’t on the list but….overall they nailed it IMO! I’ve only eaten at 1 place on the list, Tejas BBQ and Chocolate, and they were excellent and used to be a Texas Monthly Top 5.
I’ve read and heard a lot about most of the places on the list, almost all of them get acclaim for being one of our city and state’s best….a few were on Texas Monthly’s list too. A couple of these on the list I’d never heard of so I can’t say anything about their worthiness. I noticed it was first compiled in 2017 but was updated recently. So, I’ve got no quibbles with the article at all. [damnit..I sure wanted to bitch about it though] 😂
You're a fraud All that yappin' you do about BBQ in Houston and you say you have only been to ONE of the 18 on the list??!! You need to eat somewhere besides Denny's now and then.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

Oak Smoke Can't we just copy & paste a couple states to the other side of Texas and move it closer? I've been to Branson, MO but no closer to you, and that was a huge drive! Love the Clampets!
Huskee Please let me be the latest to invite you to come visit Texas. Texas is a Big place. There are area’s much like Branson, but many more that are totally different. When I used to leave my office in Perryton, Tx and head to our office in Pharr Tx it was a 14 hour driver, all in one state. There is one common denominator, friendly people. Consider making the fall meat up. It will be my first, I’d like to say hello and shake your hand.
