I picked my wife up at the Gainesville airport Friday night about midnight on her return from a trip to Austin. She and the student she travelled with only had roll aboard bags and I did not smell brisket, but I may need to question them further after seeing this report.

When flying out of the Austin airport, you should almost always grab a frozen brisket to go from the Salt Lick kiosk/outlet

At the very least, plan enough time to grab a platter to eat there.

Another difference between Texas and SoCal. Here they smash and grab jewelry and high-end clothes. Texas, partially cooked briskets. Oh my.

Did the thieves at least put the stolen briskets in a cooler or other appropriate box to keep the temp?

The article says "prepped and cold smoking". Is cold smoking one of the secrets to their amazing brisket?

Isn't stealing briskets a hanging offence in TX?

Maybe a rope with a little elastic in it.

What in the heck would a guy do with 20 partially cooked briskets?

I read the article to try to answer your question and now I have the same question. It would almost have to be someone with access to restaurant sized facilities, wouldn't it?

I wonder if they're some sort of protester, radical vegans or PETA or something. It's just not logical for someone to take all that with intention to use it properly. Oh well, a crime is a crime and it's a shame that some folks choose this path.

Had to bust locks of the smokers, geeze.

A funeral home and 20 storage units on the same highway just outside of this town were burglarized Friday night.
