This is another place I try to get to whenever I am in the area. It is more than just a restaurant. There us a winery, a candy shop and a cider mill on the property. The fried apple pies are excellent, as is the cider. I brought some of both home with me. My meal was chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and collards. The steak looked a little overcooked, but t was pretty good. Tender enough to cut with a fork. The potatoes were real, not powdered. Still had some lumps, which I enjoyed. The greens were just so so. The meal also included a cup of soup, I had the broccoli cheese. And a beignet with some of their apple butter.
It was good. Worth a stop if you are in the area.

Whenever we head south to the coast or Florida, we're always on 75. I think we need to make a stop this year, enjoy ourselves for a day or so in Sevierville, and try some local food.
Thanks for the tips!

It is a little ways off 75, towards Ashville on I40 east. And be ready for traffic, it can be brutal. But I enjoy it. If you can stay a few days, check out Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede dinner theater in Pigeon Forge. It is a blast. I have been 3 times. But I'll warn you again about traffic. Especially on weekends.
