Any Good BBQ In Monteagle, TN?

Or any other good food or fun things to do if you've been there?

    #2

I know of it, growing up in East Tn. It's not too far from Chattanooga, IIRC, but Monteagle itself is a pretty small town. Seems like I drove through it once, between Chattanooga and Nashville. It is a small enough town that you should be able to just pull into somewhere local, like a diner or gas station or motel, and ask. East Tenn is not so much known for BBQ, not like NC or Memphis in May, or TX, but locals should be able to direct you to the secret and loved places. If a local tells you, I would go.

Edit: Oh, BTW, Chattanooga IIRC is not far. Lot to do there, if you aren't familiar with the gorgeous scenery of East Tenn, is worth just that. The two big mountains in Chatt, Signal Mtn and Lookout Mtn, are lot residential, but have a lot of scenery that is pretty great. The Hanging Gardens pretty nice, and of course there is the ChooChoo. I love that middle stretch of Tenn, yarn stores and golf courses and just really nice people. Have fun.

I’ve never been to whatever Tennessee, so I feel free in saying that no, there’s no good BBQ in fill-in-the-blank Tennesse.

      You’re welcome.

There's a Waffle House there that I have stopped at on the way to Atlanta. That's all I got.

I was there recently, and I only saw the Waffle House. There was a restaurant off the exit, but it burned. You could drive to Jasper and eat at Top of the Rock in Jasper Highlands. Great restaurant with an incredible view.

Been through there many times, but never stopped. Seems like I read something about Dr. King holding meetings there. Safe travels!
