I was in Florence, SC for lunch today on the way to Florida and decided to try Elliot's BBQ Lounge. In true SC BBQ fashion I got the whole hog bbq and hash and rice. My mom got the ribs and she let me try one. Dad got the chicken sandwich with bacon, pimento cheese and white sauce, I did not get to try the sandwich. Everything was delicious.
Also, got to meet Elliot Moss and he showed me the pit room with the burn barrel and cinder block pits.
The restaurant is pretty large with a brewery inside and an area with large chairs and pool tables. Definitely a cool place.

I am glad that the food was great, but I am still trying to wrap my mind around a BBQ Lounge. LOL I am expecting alcohol and music, but I guess you can lounge around while you eat BBQ. That pit is real old school South Carolina BBQ. It is a little fancier than Snow’s in Lexington, Texas, but both take a lot of know how. The pit master makes it happen.
