Hello all! My wife and I are taking a road trip from northern Indiana down to south Carolina then probably to savannah Georgia (considering Charleston as well) we will have about 9 days to play around with no real itinerary. We have never been down this way and are looking for some great bbq stops along the way, so who better to ask then all the great people here! any suggestions on top places to visit are greatly appreciated, thanks to all and smoke on!

Sweet Potatoes Kitchen in Savannah is good to. We have family in Savannah, and we ate there during our last visit about a year ago.

A co-worker of mine recently got back from a trip to Charleston, SC. He was raving about Rodney Scott’s BBQ. Apparently the locals consistently referred him to that location, so there’s that. But, as fate would have it, they are opeing a location here in Bham metro, so I’m hoping to give it a try. Birmingham is a proverbial dessert when it comes to good/quality BBQ. Unless you want it drowned in cheap overly sweet sauces....I suppose regions have their style and I just don’t care for their style. I grew up on Big Bob’s....
