    Blaze Fast Fired Pizza

This is not a BBQ joint, but I thought some here might be interested because it is a national chain and may be coming to your area - if not already there. And I know that some here do enjoy pizza.

This place opened a few months ago with not so great reviews, so we did not visit. The reviews have improved greatly, so we decided to give the place a try. And a friend of my wife's raved about it, so last night we went.

A very interesting setup - it's like Subway and Chipotle. You get in line and they build it for you as you watch. You can tell them a little more, (or a little less), sauce or whatever. One interesting point was that they took each dough ball and put it in a press to shape it. And the press was heated to 240* F. It came out very thin - like store bought tortilla thin with a little rim. There were four sauces: red, white, spicey red, and one more. I didn't count, but they must have had at least 20 toppings And you could have all the toppings you wanted for $7.95, (the pizza was about 12").

Not knowing how spicy the spicy red sauce was, I asked for half red and half spicy mixed. The cheese guy was a bit light on the cheese, so I asked for a bit more and he said no problem. The pies were baked in a brick oven and only took a few minutes. The crust was crisp, the sauce was very tasty, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I wouldn't have minded the crust being a bit thicker though.

We got there early because it was Saturday night. The line was not too long and moved fairly quickly. By the time we left, the line was very long, but still moving along. It was an enjoyable experience and we will be going back.
