I can vouch for Animales. (Not that they need my help) It is great stuff and the best in Minnesota. Revival BBQ was bad last time I was there. They have a couple of other restaurants that are very good, but they did not have their BBQ figured out when I was there.
Although, I will say Buddy Boy is gaining ground on Animales. I would like to see them featured. It is a western subs thing though, so not surprised the writers have not made it out that far. They tend to get scared of leaving Minneapolis or St. Paul for fear of liking something outside of the city.
