Just curious if anyone could recommend a don't miss BBQ/Smoke house in the area around Raleigh-Durham and to the southwest of that area say from the airport down to Fuquay-Varina?
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

I hope you get some info. I moved this to the BBQ Restaurant Roundup > North Carolina sub-channel. Have you tried browsing the NC sub-channel to see if there's anything that fits your plans?
I'm not sure if this is too far outside of the area you want to go, but http://www.pik-n-pig.com/ is a good choice and worth it just for the novelty of the location.
Bummer that Kamado Grille closed down. "The Pit" is a popular restaurant which is decent. "Picnic" in Durham might be your best bet. Look them up online. And if you’re in for a really cool BBQ shop, check out Grillbillies in North Raleigh. I did a quick write up of that place a few months ago.
