If anyone is attending the 2024 US Open in Pinehurst this month give the Pik N Pig a try. If you are flying in it is located next to the airport and their website gives you all the flying details. http://pik-n-pig.com Helicopters from Fort Bragg (now Liberty) think enough of it to land and pick up lunch. The photo below was taken as we ate there.
And if traveling on Morganton Road in Pinehurst wave to my sister who lives in our old family home 400 yards from the course.
My lifelong friend and first fire captain when I became a professional fireman now lives in Carthage. I visited with them for a couple of days during my cross country trip last year. Nice town and nice area. I didn't know about the Pik-n-pig or I would have made a point to check them out.
Hmmm.... have a VA appointment out that way in a few months, I was gonna try to switch it to something closer/sooner... but if I can't I guess I might as well try to pick up dinner
Currently own:

Regular gasser with rotisserie.
Custom built horizontal stick burner.
Custom built duel fuel "whole hog" cooker.
Many other tools of the trade.
I can vouch as well the pik-n-pig is worth a stop. I have ate here many times going back and forth to the eastern academy. Read up on their history and come back from a devastating fire.
it is an air park with a view. Give it a try if your in the area.
