I went to Jon G’s BBQ in Peachland, NC which is just outside of Charlotte. It’s Texas inspired BBQ plus a Franklin-style atmosphere of waiting in line and heavy focus on the social side of things before your BBQ begins.
We were 60th in line at 9am (opens at 11am). They gave you free local beer while waiting in line. People throwing the football. Making mimosas. Cornhole. It rivaled being at Franklin’s.
The line moved slow and we ate at 2pm. Kind of my only let down (I would’ve thought 1pm at the latest). But the BBQ was sooooo worth it!
Brisket, sausage, turkey, dino beef ribs, pork ribs, bacon burnt ends, brisket fried rice, and more!! See pics. It was amazing BBQ (and I don’t say that lightly).
they’re only open on Saturdays, but you can find them catering around the greater-Charlotte area. Or at Ben Affleck and J-Lo’s wedding….
