When on our way home from trips all over the NE, I tend to check out BBQ joints. I’ve also been into perfecting my own smoked Carolina pork and Texas brisket, always comparing to when we lived in the South when I was younger.
The Memphis King in Schenectady has pretty good BBQ. We've been stopping there on and off since 2010 when driving back from Gloversville on business. The pulled pork and the brisket are nicely done, the sauces are good, the mac & cheese and corn bread delicious, and the fried chicken thighs are literally fought over in our car.
They seem to sell out early most days which is a good sign, and the inside of the small place is a complete Elvis dedication, which is cool. https://www.thememphisking.com/
