    NM Green Chile Cheeseburgers

What are your fave restaurants for GCCBs in NM? I love Sparky’s, the Owl, Buckhorn, and Santa Fe Bite, with Sparky’s taking tthe top spot cuz
of the great kitsch,, but my favorite burger is from the Owl.

Not NM, but we have a place here in Oklahoma, in Bartlesville, 40 mins N of Tulsa, that does this and it is freaking AMAZING. Best pork green chile verde I've had outside NM. And better than a few I had there. It's called Frank & Lola's and it's good enough to make a detour this way if you're in the area, my opinion, at least. Still working on trying to copycat their recipe. It's awesome.

When we lived in El Paso we traveled to/thru Albuquerque a lot and always had to time our trip to get to the Owl Cafe around lunch time. Always a mouth-watering delight!

Buckhorn would be my 2nd choice.

You’ve named pretty much the top spots. One that is always mentioned with the few you listed, Laguna Burger. Original is in Laguna, NM, west of ABQ. But there are a few here in Albuquerque as well. Up on the hill as you enter Rio Rancho as well as on 12th ST and at a casino just outside of ABQ.

Holy Cow is supposed to have a good GCCB as well, this is down on Central.

And, in a few weeks, if they are still doing the competition, the NM State Fair will host the annual GCCB cookoff. Sparky’s, Laguna, Buckhorn, all have been winners. One year, even Fuddruckers won the competition, which set off the locals!

There are also a number of nice restaurants that are putting out some great burgers, even making events out of the burger night. FortyNineForty, a restaurant in Corrales makes an excellent GCCB.

Oh man…one of my favorites is no longer in business though - The Little Red Hamburger Hut down off of Mountain Rd. Dang they made a burger!!!!

LOL! Fuddrucker’s! I bet the locals were peeved. It’s been years/decades even, but I did like their burgers and fixings bar. The reason I list only the biggies is cuz we’re not NM natives and so just hit the “famous” joints when we travel to Santa Fe. But, hey, even Blake’s makes a decent one.
