We are back down here visiting the GF's family so of course I had to hit up The Shed. On this visit I had the 2 meat combo with brisket and turkey. For sides I went with beans and hush puppies. I've been here several times and this was the first time it was just "good". The turkey was sliced about 3/8” thick and I think that hurt it's tenderness. The flavor was good, but not exceptional. This was my first time getting the turkey, so I don't know if this was just a one off, or if it is the norm for this place.
They made an almost unforgivable mistake with the brisket, and sliced it with the grain. That definitely hurts the texture and the plastic knife you get had a hard time cutting it. The flavor was good, but again not what I am used to from The Shed.
The beans and hush puppies were both very good. But weren't enough to over come the short comings of the meat.
Every time I have been to The Shed in the past it was excellent, so I won't bash them just because of this trip. If this had been my first time, I would have written it off as another over hyped TV BBQ spot.
We are going to be here for another couple of days, and if time allows, I going to swing back and give them a chance to redeem themselves. The small cup was a side of ranch. I have no idea what that was supposed to be used for.
