    Casa Casco, Panama City, Panama

This place is pretty impressive. It has 4 floors with a different restaurant on each floor. We chose to eat at the Panamanian restaurant on the 1st floor, Kabore. We had an appetizer called sous and patacon, which was chopped souse with plantain chips and a hot sauce. I didn't get a pic but it was fantastic. I had a burger and fries - it was excellent. The beef was Argentinian- i have had it before in Aruba - and it beats American beef hands down IMO. My sister had a whole fish fried that she said was excellent as well.

Do you have to have a Casco membership to get in there?

While there have you seen any of the SUPER 99 stores? Last count there was over 50. My friend Ricardo , who I have known since we were both 13, founded and owns the chain.

Enjoying your post from Panama. A little bit of trivia for you.

Panamanian Quiz : “Why are odd jobs called Shrimps in Panama?”

Answer: When the US controlled the Canal Zone and some military bases locals looking for work would often ask the American residents if they needed any work done on their home or property. If a resident agreed they usually replied by saying something similar to “Okay, come around Saturday.” Since ‘come around’ sounds very similar to the Spanish word for shrimp ‘camarones‘ odd jobs soon became widely known as Shrimps
