I’ll definitely watch this when I have a little time tomorrow. This should be good!

I watched about 45 minutes of this on my flight, will finish at home because internet is down on last leg.

But, watching this humanizes the story that many have read about. I did visit Valentina’s when it was the food truck with the covered outdoor eating area once. My parents really enjoyed the Tex-Mex BBQ style food they ordered. I ordered the big platter of BBQ and thought it was good, but the day we were there was so freaking cold (mid 30s the week we went for a wedding) that the food was cold almost instantly. So that took a bit of the experience away.

anyhow, thanks for sharing this. I know he owed a lot of money to a number of companies, but hopefully his life is back on track, for him and his daughter’s sake.

Purc I was wondering if that was the same one we visited. There was nowhere for that trip to got but up from there. In the quest to say something good about them the banana pudding was good if I remember right. It was the first day of the only meet up I’ve been to. I kept thinking “this better improve quickly or I’m going to look for a Whata Burger

Yep, our trip to Valentina’s was the absolute worst dining experience of my life, nothing else even comes close. It was so bad they shut the doors at noon that day.

Lost me when the host is talking about the video maybe making people need mental health help and the sponsor is offering a 10% discount on mental health after watching their hour long video...

there are free resources for immediate mental health. For everyone 988 is immediate and free, they WILL talk you off the ledge if you already had the courage to dial. If you are a veteran they go a step further and they saved my life (I talked someone else into calling that could have killed me if the 988 provider hadn't handled the call so perfectly).

Yeah, long term mental health you're gonna need to pay and that 10% might be nice, but people that have lost everything are likely considering permanent solutions to temporary problems need free legit health care immediately.

Anyway, maybe a good video subject? But I tapped out at profiting off of mental health care. Can't and won't do it.

Dewesq55 which is exactly why the video could have started with that or another resource before mentioning the sponsor.

Pretty sure there is a fast forward button.

Jerod Broussard there is, but I wasn't gonna watch the rest of the vid and generate ad revenue for the sponsor. Maybe I'm just too irritable when it comes to suicide/mental health.

Check this out guys. Apparently Miguel Vidal from Valentina’s is getting a second chance. Not as the owner but…..There’s a new BBQ spot in Austin opening this month and Miguel is going to be their Pitmaster/Culinary Director. It’s called Churchrow Tejas BBQ. Hmmm. 🧐

It would have been a whole lot better if somebody with a lot of money would just back him up and said to just go open another restaurant, open up a chain and just let it roll.

Local place here (Allegedly one of NCs top spots) went out of business because for a while of tax reasons, someone bought it out and brought the old owner back as an employee... supposedly it's doing good/ok I just never was impressed with their BBQ

JB, He closed the business owing people millions of dollars. Probably not many offers from rich people to do that for him…. He also said in the video he didn’t want to handle the money part. This is probably a best case scenario for him. Baby steps….
