Culver’s is the best fast food burger joint I know of and all their food is really tasty. My go-to is the double deluxe, then a nap!

Yep! Panhead John By the time I’m done eating that and splitting some cheese curds and fries I’m ready for a food coma. 😂

I concur on the fries at In-n-Out. They do suck! Worst fries I've ever had.

Jerod Broussard The shakes are lousy too.  The burgers......average at best.  Had a friend last week pick up a burger at In-n-Out.  Waited an hour in a car line.  AN HOUR!

Wow! They waited an hour for that crap?! I wouldn’t wait that long for an In-N-Out meal unless I was just released from a Turkish prison and was watching movies about gladiators.

I wouldn't wait in a drive through an hour ANYWHERE. Not even Franklin's BBQ. Sorry.

I’m thinking I need to give Culver’s another chance. It’s one of my wife’s favorite places, but I’ve never been highly impressed. I’m wondering if the main culprit is lack of salt on the burgers.

I have always loved their cheese curds and the chicken is decent. I need to try the onion rings.

I didn’t even know Culver’s existed. Just googled it and there is one very close to me in my town. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks PJ!

Yeh, the closest Culver's is located in Montrose, Colorado. Guess I'll stick to my local joint, Biggies.

Excellent review PJ. We have a Culver's here in Kernersville that opened up about a year ago. Excellent food for sure.

John, I am beginning to think these smackdowns are chosen so you I won’t have to cook. Now how many other kinds of smackdowns can you do or are there still some burger joints to cover? Steak might be a little too expensive.

I’m done with any more hamburger reviews. Believe it or not, I’m tired of burgers for a while. I actually would like to do some wings reviews next, there’s lots of good places to try. I’d love to visit some steakhouses and do some steak write ups, but you’ll need to start a GoFundMe for that…🥸

Panhead John, I like the Wing review idea since I consider myself to be a wing man.

            #24
I support the wings idea to the extent that your budget for beer can support the expense. Personally, I do chicken tenders instead of wings, so I’ll have to filter your reviews by chicken tender availability.

I am also willing to give you a pass on a return visit for Twin Peaks if you are really sick of burgers. Unless you want to make Twin Peaks the first wings review.

I’ll be returning to Twin Peaks for sure, just not that location, possibly. I have 3 locations near me….🤓 as I mentioned, I’m done with any more burger visits. Bone-in wings only, is my first inclination for any possible reviews. 🥸

Yeah, that makes a ton of sense.

The first few times I had Shake Shack in NYC it was amazing. Some of the others I have visited around the country aren't as good as the ones in NYC but still pretty good. It is on the expensive side though.

I had Culvers for the first time a couple years ago on a road trip to the midwest and loved it. The burger, cheese curds, and custard were all excellent, the restaurant was nice and clean, and the price was pretty solid for what you got. Looking forward to another trip where I can get it again.

Thanks for all the reviews. We have a Culver’s near one of my daughter’s houses about 6 miles away. I’ll need to try it.

Yvonne and I had burgers at Shake Shack week before last, and thought they were really good, but I did get the double patty one. I had if previously in the Greenville airport and thought they made a good smash burger style patty. But the self serve ordering kiosk sucked.

Re: wings. I’ve been to a couple “Wingfests”. The basic wing sauce is almost exactly the same everywhere: butter and Frank’s, or Tabasco, or Louisiana Hot Sauce, etc., with hot just having more pepper. The differences are in the variety sauces: the mango chutney, the cowboy, the honey mustard, Cajun, Italian, etc.

It takes a lot of visits to a lot of locations to find the place that makes the wing that lights you up to the max. But that’s not a bad thing, that’s a good thing.

At The Anthracite Cafe, Mrs Mosca goes with the B&Bs (boneless breaded tenders) with honey mustard, I go with regular wings and OUCH!!.
