I kinda want to do a "real" version of this....deboning a half-rack of ribs and cooking it similar. I think Malcom Reed and Chud's BBQ both have recipes on this.
Retired, living in Western Mass. Enjoy music, cooking and my family.
Current cookers Weber Spirit 3 burner with a full insert griddle added. A 22" Kettle with vortex SnS and OnlyFire pizza oven. A Smokey Joe and the most recent addition a Pit Barrel Jr with bird hanger, 4 hooks and cover. ThermoWorks Smoke 2 probe, DOT, ThermoPops and a Thermapen MK4. 3 TempSpike wireless meat thermometers.
Why wait for the McRib to return when you've got an amazing rib sandwich recipe? Learn more about the fabled McRib sandwich while creating one that takes it over the top. Ribs are smoked to perfection before the meat joins homemade pickles, caramelized onions, and custom BBQ sauce on a buttery brioche bun.
Bake a thin ground pork patty to done, add slivered onions, a couple thin dill pickle chips, and sweet BBQ sauce, and a lightly toasted white bun, there you go. It tastes exactly like it sounds IMO.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

I tried one once a couple years ago. My thoughts were it's kinda on par with a McChicken in that it's not a bad bite but nothing to write home about. I don't share the deep affection some have for it. Their 'limited time' marketing scheme has worked the magic they intended for sure.
the marketing is brilliant... i tried to get my corporate job people to use the same concept. I actually called it "McRib" that (enter menu item here).... make it craveable, make it elusive, make it FOMO.
