Miami FL here. I had lunch at Fogo de Chao in Coral Gables not too long ago - and I did not pay the bill! The Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office in Miami paid.

What is great? The endless meat buffet. You do not even have to get up. Staff bring skewers of various meats to your table and you tell them yes or no. And if they bring medium meats but you want rare? Just say so. Rare will appear. Whatever you want.

It was meat heaven. I had not had much beef because of covid madness. Shortages, price increases, and so on. so HELL YES I was pigging out.

5 stars. 100% recommend. Just go. And so on.

250 miles from my place - guess I'll just use some of the tips suggested in the article.

It looks like one is 30 minutes away. Do I break my rule of eating food (steak) that I can do well myself? Decisions, Decisions.

a celebratory dinner to try something that you might not be replicating at home YET is occasionally worthwhile

Break the rule. The variety of the cuts and sides they offer are something nobody can replicate at home. Unless you have a Brazilian butcher (which you may have somewhere in Chicago) you're not going to find some of the cuts that you find in a good Churrascaria.

Saw this post yesterday and said, oh - I walked by a Fogo this week when I was in San Jose. I’ll have to try one when I travel again.

yesterday, went to a meeting and saw a Fogo in Albuquerque…..had no idea we had one! Haha. But, you guys say it’s good, I’ll give it a try!

They may or may not still be doing it, but early Covid they did takeaway of their meats to cook at home. Picked up some terrific sausages, for example.

I thought this site didn't allow ads for subscribers? This is clearly written by the company. Meathead

edit: I don't meant i imply the OP intended anything negative about this post, but this is very clearly a press release presented as an "article" and is nothing but self congratulatory nonsense.

Yeah. We didn't notice that it appears to be promotional, but it has sparked a fun discussion so we'll let it go.

darn it. Didn't interpret it as an advertorial piece, but can see that aspect of it in hindsight.

Love this place. The salad bar alone is worth it. The meats are really good.

They have one in Minneapolis, although I am sure it is either closed, ransacked or unsafe to be around as the downtown continues to deteriorate into oblivion.

The place just made me feel guilty. The food was very good and the experience was fun. But I ate more food than any human should be allowed only to exit the door to the streets of Baltimore.
