The thought of this pains me to the heart--heartburn. Need the shake to put out the fire? Come on shake!
Then sitting on the pot, screaming "Come on Sake, come on shake!"
If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
I'm gonna be trying this one for sure. I am always disappointed by the various "spicy chicken" sandwiches at all the fast food chains. This one lets you choose brisket or chicken as the protein too.
I really like the Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich. Though it's hit or miss on spice level and not really hot hot even when you get a hot one. In highschool we would all scrounge up change and $1.05 was the out the door price with tax, ate tons of 99 cent spicy chicken sammys
I'll give this Arbys one a shot, not really a huge fan of anything on their menu or than the french dip and the curly fries, but my wife likes to go there from time to time.
The first time Wendy's introduced the spicy chicken as a limited item, it was far spicier than when it was re-introduced as a regular menu item. Ah well.
No chance it is really spicy. How many times have fast food or chain restaurants introduced a ghost pepper chicken or carolina reaper sauce that is only slightly spicier than ketchup?
East Coast Wings insanity wings are stupid stupid hot... shame they can't consistently cook their wings to temp, it's the only wing chain I will order ANYTHING other than chicken from 'cause they always screw it up. At least our location.
Alright, who’s tried it? I had the Chicken version for lunch today. I’ll preface this buy saying I can and do eat pretty hot stuff. I’ve tried over 20 different kinds of hot sauce in last couple years, use Oakridge Habenaro Death Dust on wings, love angry chicken at Thai places, Mango Habenaro wings at B-dubs, etc. I’m not insane though, I don’t go chasing Reapers or spicy food challenges. Nor am I crazy enough to go to a Thai place and ask for all the heat they got in something. Heat must add flavor or it doesn’t need to be there, but no one that knows me uses my opinion on whether something is hot (I have a lot of tender palettes in my family and friends).
So, how hot is it? For those that don’t eat items above it’s going to be HOT. For those that do, it’s just pretty warm. Probably spicier than anything I’ve ever had at a fast food place. I wasn’t interested in a TikTok challenge, but could have easily done theirs. After eating the whole thing, it was worthy of one wipe across the forehead to catch a few droplets of spice perspiration.
Now, the more important question, was it good? Nah, not really. It wasn’t bad either. As far as the chicken version it definitely seemed like they were focused on heat over the right flavor combo. I wouldn’t order it again. Though if one were in front of me and I was hungry, it wasn’t off putting at all and I’d eat it. I really suspect the flavors probably compliment the roast beef version more. I might actually try the roast beef version though if it’s around a while.

My son tried the chicken version of this yesterday, and texted me about it. He said it was hotter than other fast food sandwiches, but not all that hot. He liked the flavor though, and said he would eat it again. But it was not melt your face or bust out in sweat hot, according to him.
I'm sure if you make this too hot in a litigious society, well, just think McDonald's coffee. Different kind of heat around consumption, but pretty much the same heat in court.
