Right now,33 and a nice crust of sleet. We're planning on a brunch at a local restaurant tomorrow. The Roadhouse. Great breakfast menu. I'm all in on their 3 egg omelette.
UPDATE: The sleet is now snow. Had 40 mph winds all night and thunder. The roads are a mess so breakfast Is postponed for today.
It’s hard to believe, but the best omlet I’ve ever had was at an IHOP. I don’t know if they whipped the eggs or what. It was thick and light, tasted great. You can have pancakes with it too!
Anyone in the Milwaukee metro area knows George Webb’s is the spot for breakfast. Yesterday I had The Big Webb. Eggs any way you like them, hash browns, choice of bacon, ham or sausage, and pancakes. Yum.
You guys are breaking my heart. The local restaurant we ate breakfast at for 40 years closed a while ago, and all the other choices are more expensive and not as good. Their omelettes were sublime.
Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
We went out for breakfast yesterday at a local diner called Tammy’s Kitchen, which is just as homey and local and excellent as the name implies. Tammy comes out of the kitchen and visits every table every half hour or so, that kind of place. No website, but they do have a FB page. Great home made food.
I had plans to whip up some stuff for dinner, but the storm that’s swept across the US had other plans, and our power went out around 4:30. A check of the PP&L outage map showed possible return of 3:00PM FRIDAY. Ugh. I’d already cleaned the fireplace last week and we were out of logs, so I went to get some (the small carry-packs you can get at supermarkets). There was a tree down at one end of the road, and at the other end another tree had fallen on the power lines.
When I got back, instead of lighting a fire we decided to go out for dinner as well. Local Italian place, King’s Ristorante. MJ had chicken scampi and I had chicken cacciatore. On the way home we saw the trucks coming to fix the power. Electricity was back on around 9:00PM.
