    Cafe du Monde

After a very good breakfast near our hotel, later we went to Cafe du Monde for “lunch.” Cafe au lait and beignets.

"Would you like some beignets with your powdered sugar?"

Awesome. We order ours “light on the sugar, please.” They are happy to comply.

Looks great. A must place to visit. Just don't wear a black shirt when eating those!

I haven't been to New Orleans yet but the local stores carry Cafe du Monde's beignet mix which I buy every now and then.

Love me some benights at Cafe du Monde. When in NOLA, you gotta go there. Always fun.

Baked oysters (Rockefeller or Creole) are a must too. Had one of the best Poboy sandwiches ever at the Acme Oyster house - pot roast poboy.

Go to the Old Absinthe House and see the old absinthe stations. Though it is now a sports bar, the absinthe stations are still there (or were).

Love CDM. I used to live a couple blocks from there. Corner of Gov Nicholls and Decatur. I need to get back to New Orleans. ♥️

Looks good! I'll have to settle for my Cafe du Monde chicory coffee. <sigh>

Actually drinking French Market's version today... finished a can of Cafe du Monde and then opened the French Market one yesterday. Boy CdM's version is super strong. Took me a little bit to get used to it, both are more robust than the Community Coffee version I'm used to drinking - but I still like it!

We've been there so many times. Never once had a bad beignet or a bad cuppa, either. I love that place.

Nice to hear you're enjoying it, jayjordan .
