Favorite King Cake Bakery in South Louisiana?

It's that time of year, cher! IYKYK. Who makes the best king cake in Cajun country? Here's a list of the ones I can think of:

• Keller's Bakery
• Poupart's Bakery (traditional French)
• Gambino's
• Rickey Meche's Donut King (donut king cake, wow)
• Twins Burgers and Sweets (try the Elvis king cake)
• Great Harvest Bread Company (believe it or not, they do a good one)
• Champagnes Market & Deli
• Crystal Weddings (Duson) - never tried this one
• Gautreaux's - never tried this one
• Rouses Markets
• Atwood's (Alexandria)

I used to like Ambrosia Bakery in Baton Rouge, but I don't know how are now. I also liked Gambinos. My husband has ordered a few cakes from Manny Randazzo, which were good.

I heard Dong Phuong's Bakery on Chef Menteur was supposed to be really good.

I don't know how we went from "king/queen" of the day when you get the baby to "you have to bring the next cake." It is kind of like that non-existent rule in Monopoly that you get the money in the middle of the board if you land on "Free Parking." Who made that up, and how did it perpetuate through out the land? 😆

One time, we had a King Cake delivered, and it gave birth to 3 babies. I got each one of them. My husband laughed every time I pulled one out of my piece of cake.

That's funny. We have clear shields on both sides of our computer stations at work. I took the last baby and stuck it on the glass so it was mooning the guy next to me.
