What part of the city are you staying in?

I’ve always liked the Joint and Central City BBQ.
If you’re out by City Park, Blue Oak BBQ is good. Toup’s Meatery is across the street, which is also really good.

I will try to restrain myself and only give a few additional suggestions.

GW Fins, hands down, is my favorite seafood restaurant.

Mr. Ed’s Seafood & Italian Restaurant in Bucktown
Drago’s Seafood

Not sure what you might like to drink. If you go to the Joint, Parleaux Beer Lab makes some of the best local beer. Bacchanal is also close to the Joint, which is wine and spirits.

If you prefer more traditional beer, Bratz Y’all is very fun.

Bywater Brew Pub and Brieux Carré are near the Quarter, and both make great beer.

I like lots of beer styles, just not the typical easy drinking ones. Looks like The Joint is high on my list…

With "504" in your handle, I guess you would know your way around. There have been so many new restaurants open and old ones that closed, I don't know what all if around there any longer. I have to say, I kinda giggled when I saw "Brieux Carré," clever name.
The only beer place I have been to was the Abita Brewery.

Rough landings today. Tornado warnings and stuff. It was a hairy plane ride in.

It’s late for me - been up since 1:00 this morning. So I just had a quick bit of fried catfish at Willie’s.

I’ve never had catfish before, seeing as I’m a prairie boy. It was ok.

But the Daquari made with 190 proof rum really hits the spot.

My wife and I were there last September. I had an oyster po-boy that just about made me cry it was so good! For the life of me I can't remember where though. Doesn't matter-NO is one place I keep going back to just to eat. It's that good.

theroc and I had an opportunity to meet up last night at The Joint. They have some seriously good bbq. No complaints at all. Neat ambience, great food! This place comes highly recommended.

Mother's Restaurant for breakfast. Killer breakfast and they advertise the best baked ham in the world. If it's not the best it's pretty darn close.

A couple more shots of our "mini-meat-up" at the Joint. I heartily second what UncleSpike says about the quality of their 'cue. Everything was wonderfully juicy and the meat flavor shined through. Light on the rub, which suits me fine. And very decent collard greens. I especially liked their luxurious outdoor waiting area (which we didn't need to make use of). We even got a tour of their pits.
