I just returned from a three-week trip to Japan and my stomach still longs for their food. My wife did not want me to get American BBQ since, you know, "we're in Japan". But luckily for me, she left the global wi-fi on the Shinkansen (bullet train) so I, the dutiful husband, volunteered to go alone from Nagoya to Tokyo to retrieve it. Of course, I went to a place with American-style BBQ.
This place is great and convenient to the Suidobashi and Iidabashi Stations. The food was extremely well prepared with a good smoke and rich flavors. I ordered the Big Boy plate (though the Godzilla plate was tempting) and ate the ribs with my fingers, not chopsticks. They let you split the sausage, one spicy and one less spicy which I chose. The waiter was from North Carolina and said the Big Iowa BBQ is also a good place that even served cornbread.
They have locations in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Yokohama. Just search Midtown BBQ Tokyo and you can access the menu and all locations.
