If you're down in southern Illinois check out Pat's BBQ in Murphysboro. Pat Burke (Apple City BBQ Grand Champion Team) and his daughter Patty own and run the place. It's down the road some from 17th St (Mike Mills is Pat's old comp team partner). Pat's BBQ is much smaller and not as glitzy as Mike's place, but all their food - and service - is outstanding. This is where the locals eat BBQ. The restaurant is only open a few days each week so call ahead.
