I found out about this place through a review on Tik Tok. It is in Lafayette, GA, about 45 minutes from my house. I briefly talked with one of the pitmasers - they run white oak in 3 Lang offsets, and they have a couple more pits that i didn't get to see. There was a line outside when I got there so I didn't spend lots of time chatting. They moved pretty quickly, about 30 minutes to the order window.
I got a 5 meat combo. 1 ea spicy and regular sausage, ribs, brisket and chicken. Sides were Brunswick stew, collards and slaw. They talked me into a banana pudding. All in was just over 60 bucks.
The staff at the counter were excellent. They sliced the brisket and ribs per order. I got both flat and point. A lady in front of me wanted chicken breast; the guy cutting the meat told her that breasts were only good for frying and they don't serve them. I knew then they were legit.
Anyway, the brisket, ribs and chicken were really really good. Like 9 out of 10 good, with 10 being-you guessed it- burnt bean. And they were not stingy with the portions. The sausage was not to my taste. The grind was not coarse enough for me. The collards were above average, but the slaw was pretty bland and the Brunswick stew was average at best. My banana pudding is better- this was mostly pudding with a couple banana pieces and a cookie.
All in all, worth the drive. If you are in N GA, look them up. They are open thur-sat 11-2 and 5-8. They have beef ribs in the evenings. I need to get back by to check them out. I can also ask about the name lol
The first 2 pics are from the internet, the last is of my order.
